Spiritual Warfare

Perhaps I wake up with a side-splitting headache for no apparent reason or perhaps I feel sick or just weak. Perhaps it's an emotional turmoil I'm going through. Little "d" loves to attack or distract me when I'm the most vulnerable and he is just waiting for those moments. Remember one of yesterday's passages. He "walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour" (1 Peter 5:8 NKJV)

Often, I find myself unable to sleep. I pray and ask God to send angels to watch over me as I sleep. I have faith that they are always present, but it just gives me a little extra comfort to ask anyway. I believe it is music to God's ears when we ask Him for help. I also pray daily for protection for my family and friends, as well.

I try to remember to put on my spiritual armor every morning, (Please read Ephesians 6:10-18 if you do not understand what "spiritual armor" is.) before even getting out of bed, right after my morning prayers. Also, I used to say my prayers on my knees, but due to my present condition, I'm unable to anymore. I liked to do that as an act of trying to humble myself. I know He understands.

When I get up and do my Bible study, usually followed by more prayer. The only defensive weapon we have (the sword) is the Word of God. I try to stay in the word as much as I can. I hope none of that sounded like bragging. I don't do these things to impress anyone, but I just cannot emphasize enough the importance of prayer and Bible study.

Make no mistake, if you love Our Father in Heaven and Jesus Christ, His Son, the devil (little d) is not going to like it! He will come up against you. We are in a fight, but fear not, because "Greater is He, who lives in me, than he who is in the world." John 4:4 (NIV)

I hope all who visit here today have an awesome day!
